The University of Ballarat and Ballarat Cancer Research Centre - Affiliate Institute Agreement
“This agreement will allow the university and research centre to work together on many joint projects,” Professor David Battersby, Vice-Chancellor, said.
“We will collaborate on a number of medical research projects that will be to the benefit of both institutions.”
Professor Battersby signed the agreement with Dr George Kannourakis, the Centre’s Director of Research.
“Mutual cooperation is vital to the ongoing growth of both the University of Ballarat and the Ballarat Cancer Research Centre,” Dr Kannourakis said.
Bill Wood, Chairman of BCRC, said the agreement signified an important relationship between the two organisations.
Both parties will jointly pursue a range of opportunities and collaborations particularly in relation to joint training, teaching and research projects, use of facilities, community engagement and any other relevant joint activities outlined in UB’s policy on Affiliate Institutes.
A further objective is to establish a Joint Institutional Committee to identify projects and opportunities of mutual interest and to ensure that communication between the parties is maintained and structured.
